With just 355 inhabitants, the village is impeccably maintained, offering a relaxing and intimate atmosphere. Perched on a sunny hill, it overlooks the water-rich, fresh, and lush green Valnerina Valley. Vallo di Nera is one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia ("The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy"). It has also been awarded Bandiera Arancione ("Orange flag"), by the Touring Club Italiano, recognizing its excellency in tourism, hospitality and environmental quality.
